Interview Suggestions
I would love to feature more interviews with emerging knitting designers! People who fit into this category will be in their first few years of designing, still a ways away from producing major books of patterns, and will have their work available for sale either online or at their local yarn stores.
I am also really excited about including pieces by non-knitting podcasters, talking about how you may have experienced knitting with members of your family, friends, or others you have come across in your interesting life!
I would love to hear you interview yourself, or get a friend or family member to join in and act as the investigative reporter trying to get the dirt on you and your designs! Being sidetracked into funny stories or charming anecdotes is strongly encouraged, and a bit of banter between you and your interviewer would be welcome!
Email the audio file to me, and I’ll take care of any editing necessary before adding your piece to an episode. (Experienced podcasters are welcome to send me a polished, ready-to-go piece!) A picture and link to your website will be added to the show notes, along with a link to any charity you’d like to highlight!
A PDF of the current list of questions for knitting designers can be downloaded here, and for non-knitting podcasters here.
Not a knitting designer or a podcaster? You can still be part of the show by leaving me a comment or sending me an email with your answer to the Ultimate Question: If someone was to knit you the perfect gift, what would it be? I’ll read out answers on every episode!

Hi Christa! In case you don’t remember my name, I just met you today at Three Bags Full. I’ve been reading your Interview Suggestions and I don’t think I really qualify as a “designer” in the sense that I’m not really trying to get my knit designs out there for sale. I have a few available on my blog free to whoever might be interested but I haven’t really pursued that angle. Though I am a very experienced fibre craftsperson and have been involved in many different crafts over the years. You name it and I’ve probably done it! I’ve also taught workshops and written articles for magazines though I’m kind of slowing down on those things the last few years. I got to the point where I’d rather do more things than write about or teach them. Kind of semi-retired, if you will.
As I mentioned to you today I don’t have a microphone for my computer and I do find it hard to articulate as well in a voice situation as I do in the written word. Do check out my blog for more of the kind of thing I’m actually good at. I love to write because then I can edit until it says what I want it to!
I did find your podcast and have downloaded all the episodes. Thanks for that! It’ll be nice to hear something local. I’ve been listening to podcasts since Marie Irshad’s original KnitCast if that tells you how long. And I can never catch up. There just aren’t enough hours in the day.
Great to chat with you today in the shop. Do get in touch if you are interested in taking anything further. I’m just a sucker for fibres!
Hugs,
Louisa

Hi Christa,
Congratulations on your podcast! You are doing a terrific job. I just love your energy and enthusiasm.
I am a self-published (and mag published) knit and crochet designer and would love to do an interview for your podcast.
Please check out my website and blog and tell me if you are interested.

Christa,
Thanks for the wonderful podcasts - keep it up! If I could suggest, I would love to hear an interview with Holli Yeoh of Bee’s Knees Knits, a Canadian designer of gorgeous baby sweaters. I had seen photos of her patterns online, and got to see her and her samples and kits at the Knit-Out in Victoria a few weeks back.
Cheers,
Cynthia
